Venn Group is a registered CRB organisation, enabling us to put specialist contractors through this process. We also have two Metropolitan Police Security Controllers. If a candidate claims to have security clearance, we will ask to see documentation and/or speak to the employer where the clearance was processed.

It is a disciplinary offence for an employee to fail to follow our vetting policy.

In addition, we aim to interview all of our candidates face to face to review their CV, fill out a detailed registration form, which asks them to disclose criminal records and disability, and confirm identity.

The information provided is then verified:

  • Eligibility: We will see and record the original passport or visa; if candidates do not have a passport we would require a P45, birth certificate or other form of identification.
  • References: References are taken verbally and then in written format (wherever possible), signed by the referee, covering reason for leaving, skills and strengths. If a contractor brings their own written references we will call the referee to verify information.
  • CVs: We verify CVs through references and check qualifications with the appropriate body. If there are periods of unemployment we will take reasonable steps to verify their activities.
