KATE BLAIR
Team Administrator. Joined Venn Group In August 2005.
How did you find out about Venn Group and what made you choose to work here?
My CV was on Monster and Venn Group rang me to set up an interview. Quite honestly I chose to work here because coming straight out of college employers weren't offering generous salaries, but Venn Group made me a fair offer and the job description seemed the most stimulating out of the various companies I had approached.
What does your role involve?
My main duties are to format candidate CVs to the Venn Group style, scan and save candidate documentation to the Venn Group database and to copy, type and dispatch reference request for candidates. In addition to this I produce and send out mail-shots; ensure the general maintenance of the office (managing the cleaning contract, ordering repairs etcetera); distribute incoming and send outgoing mail; handle travel requirements for the consultants; ensure that any candidate timesheets that arrive here are swiftly forwarded to our payroll department; and really anything else that the consultants and management don't have time to do.
What are the best bits about your role, what do you enjoy the most?
The best thing about my role is that it allows me to develop over time and at my own pace. As I joined straight out of college and started in a basic role, management in the office have allowed me to take on more duties as fast as I feel I can handle it. After being here two years my day is now hugely busy, new challenges are thrown at me on a weekly basis and the consultants give me ad-hoc tasks. This is how I like it, it makes the week fly by.
How would you describe the office environment and atmosphere?
The office is buzzing and determined when there is work to be done (this is the large majority of the time) and relaxed and humorous when we have time to sit back and breathe.
What do you enjoy at Venn Group overall?
My favourite thing about Venn Group is that I look forward to coming to work everyday, the guys here are great fun and I always seem to end up in a mucn better mood than I turned up in. I also really look forward the legendary Christmas parties and the summer seminars.
