Conference conundrum: waste or wanted?

As ever, this year Venn Group will be attending various specialist sector conferences across the country. In March alone we will be at LLG Legal Training Weekend, Future Healthcare UK and Housing Finance.
These events immerse us in the markets we serve and offer a great opportunity for us to shape our offering to fit the needs and trends within that market. Conferences help us to make new contacts and reaffirm established relationships.
There’s a catch, though. Under my desk lurks a bag of stuff I have collected from stands at conferences – pens, brochures, flyers and other assorted branded stuff. Whilst, I certainly do want our consultants to have the best possible materials to give to delegates on our services. I’d rather our planet’s scarce resources don’t just end up dumped under some other team’s desk across the country.
Help me, then, with a couple of questions: When you go to a conference, what kind of printed information do you find most useful? And: Are we producing too much material for these events, that we end up not using?
