Earth Day 2018 - End to plastic

Let’s admit it; we’re all a little bit rubbish at recycling our rubbish.
As consumers, we continuously damage our environment. With over 4.8 million metric tons of plastic going into our oceans annually, this year the theme of Earth Day is to end plastic pollution.
I am sure many of you will remember David Attenborough’s heart felt plea in the final episode of Blue Planet II to do more to protect the environment and as he said “The future of all life now depends on us.” The power of earth day is exactly that, that responsibility lies with everyone without exception.
At Venn Group, we are constantly looking to improve our impact on the environment. For instance, we now no longer give away free pens at conferences, but instead provide pencils made from recycled denim. Small steps, but still steps nonetheless.
So here’s what you can to do help this Earth Day:
Don’t take plastic bags
Use reusable cups for hot drinks
Don’t buy drinks in plastic bottles
Buy foods that aren’t wrapped in plastic
Choose shops that are taking action
Don’t use straws
