Charity Day 2018 has arrived!

Today, Venn Group is holding its annual charity day in support of our charity of the year; Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity in cancer research, and the only one fighting all 200 types of cancer with no government funding. In 2016, cancer accounted for more than a quarter of all deaths in the UK. Therefore the work of CRUK is critical, and it has been a privilege to support them over the course of this year so far.
Our brilliant charity committee have organised a variety of events which will take place across our seven offices today. This includes everything from food challenges, a blind auction, baby photo competitions, fancy dress and even a sponsored head shaving! There will also, of course, be a few bake sales in and amongst and a company-wide raffle. As one of the most popular events of the Venn Group year, we have no doubt that the day will be thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Charity at Venn Group is entrenched in our business. While there are obvious positive implications of fundraising for a worthy cause, we believe that it similarly offers a benefit to our employees. It brings our people together, instilling the sense of comradery that is pivotal to Venn Group’s culture. It is also a mechanism for our employees to get involved in new and exciting experiences.
Accomplishments over the course of the year so far include the Ride London-Surrey 100 mile, a conquering of Kilimanjaro and countless events in our offices themselves. As always, our people have gone above and beyond to ensure that we raise the maximum amount possible. However, their efforts do not conclude today, with events such as half-marathons and Tough Mudders lined up for several consultants before the end of the year.
Last year’s charity day raised £7347.18 for Alzheimer's Society; a huge contributor to our year-end total of £20,421. Naturally, we will be aiming to reach or surpass this figure today. Venn Group would like to thank the charity committee for their hard work and hope that everyone has fun getting involved in the events on offer. And remember – dig deep and donate!
