Happy Chinese New Year

Today marks the first day of the Chinese New Year; a time of great celebration across the globe for one sixth of the population. Every year correlates to one of the 12 signs in the Chinese zodiac, with 2019 being the year of the pig.

In Chinese culture, pigs are a symbol of wealth, and the following 12 months bode to be beneficial for all. Over the next 15 days, there will be celebrations across the country. These will include parades, feasts, the exchanging of gifts and the largest annual use of fireworks in the world.

Also known as the Spring Festival, it is seen as a time for family and preparation. Previous misgivings are forgotten, and houses will be cleaned to sweep away bad fortune.

We hope the coming year brings you prosperity, health and happiness.

Happy New Year
