Today is the United Nations International Day of Happiness, promoting the commitment that all member states have given to make the happiness of their people a greater priority. Coinciding with the spring equinox, the annual acknowledgement of the start of longer and brighter days, there are all manner of reasons to be feeling positive.
This year’s theme is ‘Happier Together’, focusing on the combined power we have when humanity works towards goals collectively as opposed to individually. It is of utmost importance to remember this in the current climate, where recent events have seemed to highlight the division existing within societies across the globe.
Venn Group was founded on the importance of coming together and working as a team. Not only does this provide those we partner with the assurance of a quality and continuous service, but it has huge benefits for our employees. The immediate access to an experienced support network and shared goals mean that our consultants are equipped to excel from the start of their careers:
“From day one, you are part of a team that is built on trust and are consistently offered advice and support on every element of recruitment, which comes in handy if the day isn’t going your way.”
Abigail Brown – Senior Consultant
“I am so thankful for the great team I have around me who put up with my stress-head first thing on a Monday morning; you’re all amazing.”
Laura Crosby – Senior Executive Consultant
“I am surrounded by a fantastic team of consultants, but more importantly a wonderful bunch of people.”
Simon Gregory – Senior Executive Consultant
“I have had the pleasure of working with and learning from a number of other hard working, intelligent and knowledgeable individuals. This has helped me to be the consultant that I am today.”
Tom Wilkinson – Senior Executive Consultant
We also recognise that while a welcoming and collaborative working environment is hugely important for the happiness of our people, there are other factors that can have a substantial impact on their wellbeing. For this reason, we partnered with Lifeworks, a wellbeing resource with information on a vast variety of topics, including practising positivity, healthy eating, money management and everything in between. In addition to this, they provide a 24/7 counselling service over the phone for support when it's most needed. Finally, our management team will be receiving mental health training from Lifeworks, to ensure they are well placed to guide their consultants through any difficulties they may encounter in their personal lives and careers.
Our people are a crucial part of our success, and so their wellbeing is of paramount importance. We will continue to support them in every way we can, to ensure their happiness both in and out of the workplace.
