Venn Group is proud to support the Young Women’s Trust, whose purpose is to support young women aged 18-30 struggling to live on low or no pay, to get into work that is right for them.
This month we undertook a review of our involvement in the ‘Work It Out’ CV feedback service. We are proud to report that the quality and detail of our feedback has been appreciated by the young women who we have helped. Below are some of the responses we have received:
“Thank you for the thorough review on my CV. It was really great feedback which will hopefully make a difference in my applications.”
“I just wanted to say thank you very much, it’s really appreciated and very helpful! I've made the changes already, so fingers crossed I can find a job advert soon to use my updated CV!”
“Thank you very much for the feedback, it has been incredibly helpful and I'll definitely apply these changes to improve the quality of my CV…you've been brilliant and I will let you know how the job search goes!”
“Thank you so much for the feedback…it looks extremely constructive and useful. I will definitely be taking on board the points and using them to re-structure my CV.”
The programme manager Lily Kendall discussed the importance of our contributions for the prospects of their clients:
“CV feedback volunteers provide an absolutely vital service to young women. They help them to present their skills in the best possible light, so their abilities and potential can shine through to employers.
It makes a massive difference – after using the service, 88% of young women felt more confident about getting the job they wanted and 80% said they better understood what employers are looking for. Young women are always so surprised at how detailed and personal the feedback is, with volunteers typically filling at least one A4 sheet full of helpful tips and questions.
Having Venn involved has been fantastic. As recruitment specialists they really understand how to give young women effective advice. We’re so grateful for all their time and energy!”
Our partnership with the YWT was driven by the clear parallels between the charity’s ambitions and our expertise as a recruitment consultancy. We are thrilled that it has been a resounding success so far and are constantly recruiting new volunteers on to the scheme across our offices.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all our existing volunteers for their commitment and enthusiasm:
