Today is the International Day of Charity, which takes place in the same month as Venn Group’s biggest fundraising push; our annual charity day. This is a key event in the Venn Group charity calendar, with the money raised from it making up a significant proportion of our annual ‘Charity of the Year’ total. This year, we are proud to be supporting Shelter; the housing and homelessness charity.
As anticipation builds for the 19th September, we have taken a look back at some of the highlights of our partnership with Shelter so far:
- Post-holiday pennies
As we bid farewell to summer for another year, our offices have been encouraging employees to donate their leftover pennies from their trips abroad into our foreign coin collection tins
- Run, Paul run!
Paul Porter took on the monumental feat of the Vitality Big Half, raising £380 in the process
- Skydiving for Shelter
Charley Payne took to the skies in her fundraising efforts, taking part in a skydive that saw her raise £585
- Sweepstakes galore
With any sporting event comes an excuse for fundraising, and this year some of our offices even have even thrown in Game of Thrones and Great British Bake Off sweepstakes for good measure
- Game, set, fundraise
Our Milton Keynes office got into the Wimbledon spirit, holding a mini tennis themed charity day ahead of the finals weekend. This included a competition for who could do the most blind tennis ball bounces on a racquet and, of course, strawberries and cream to keep everyone going
- Vertical Rush
Consultants scaled the 932 steps of Tower 42 in London in one of Shelter’s flagship events, raising £410
We look forward to an action-packed day of fundraising later this month, including our hotly anticipated company-wide raffle which our suppliers have contributed to, and will announce our grand total at the end of the year.
