Our corporate charity partnership for this year is Young Women’s Trust. For the last few years we have supported them with their Work it Out careers coaching service and would like to take a closer look at how this has helped the young women, as well as the other help Young Women’s Trust provide.
What is the Work it Out service?
Work It Out is a free service that offers support for women aged 18-30. It unlocks young women’s potential by helping them to build their skills and develop strong mental health.
There’s two integral parts to Work It Out - coaching delivered by a professional coach and CV feedback delivered by recruitment volunteers. At Venn Group we help with the latter, using our extensive knowledge we provide advice, tips and suggested improvements on the young women’s CVs and cover letters.
Young women who sign up for coaching receive free telephone sessions with a professional coach. Through six one-to-one conversations, a coach will help a young woman to identify her skills, feel more work-ready and develop strong mental health.
Coaching can also help young women with:
- Next steps in their lives
- How to stay motivated
- Identifying their strengths
- Job interview prep
- Building confidence and strong mental health
- Dealing with anxiety
- Planning for the future
- Relationships with family, friends and partners
It’s no small feat to say that these services have helped to change young women’s lives. Below are some links to articles by women they have supported and helped.
