Learning from Lockdown - Special Educational Needs
The Local Government sector is doing an incredible job responding to the needs of the community in this unfolding pandemic. An area we are continuing to support is SEN, which, like many areas of Local Authorities, will likely feel the impact of COVID19 for some time to come.
Venn Group will therefore be hosting a topical Webinar aimed at SEND leaders to discuss what the current circumstances of the pandemic mean for our children in need, what working in lockdown may have unlocked in terms of opportunities and where gaps may have emerged.
This will be taking place on Wednesday 27th May from 5.30-6.30pm via Zoom. Please click here to register your attendance and receive further details.
In It Together
Venn Group have partnered with One Education, who have recently been responsible for the delivery of the successful One SEND Transformation programme across BiBorough.
Responding to the pressures on SEND services nationally, the One SEND project sought to improve efficiencies and timescales, allowing more time to be spent on service users and data to inform investment decisions.
Since its successful implementation, the One SEND project has seen the ability for the Directorate to respond in an agile way to COVID19, using technology to manage the disruption to service.
Like most professionals working in the children’s services field, the Project Director, Vik Verma and Change Consultant, Deborah Brooks are extremely passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people in need during this unprecedented time of crisis, and how this event may inform the ongoing response of front-line workers and the future challenges that may emerge.
The Power of Sharing
There are positives and valuable learnings to take from the powerful response of all SEND professionals during the lockdown period so far.
As such we invite you to our Learning from Lockdown Webinar, led by Vik and Deborah and hosted by Venn Group, to join us in important reflection opportunity with peers across the SEND network. We aim to discuss what the current circumstances of the pandemic mean for our children in need, what working in lockdown may have unlocked in opportunities and where gaps may have emerged.
Both Vik and Deborah have a background in delivering end to end change programmes in Local Authority, Central Government, Education and the Charity sectors, and in partnership with Venn Group’s long established specialist Local Government division, we welcome SEND professionals to join us.
