Skills for a resilient youth

Today is World Youth Skills Day and it takes place in one of the most challenging contexts. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic young people aged between 15-24* were already three times more likely than adults to be unemployed, and lockdown measures have led to the worldwide closure of education and training institutions, threatening the continuity of skills development. Yet it will be this generation who will be called upon to contribute to the recovery effort and they will need to be equipped with the skills required to navigate and adapt to future disruptions.

This year the United Nations is focusing WYSD on Skills for a Resilient Youth in the Era of COVID-19 and Beyond.

At Venn Group whilst we don’t educate we do ensure people maximise and identify the skills they own and we are proud to be supporting youth skills through our empowering employment initiative and partnership with Young Womens Trust. During lockdown we have been called upon to deliver webinars that shared our expertise as recruiters on how to skill up and stand out as a candidate, at interview and on paper. These webinars were well received and continue to be re-run due to popular demand.

Our empowering employment initiative can offer workshops and webinars on all things employability for you. Not only do they focus on equipping your stakeholders with practical skills they can transfer to their job search – such as interview and CV writing tips – but a large part of the benefit we bring is instilling confidence in the individuals who attend.

If you would like us to host a webinar for your stakeholders please email ehanna@venngroup.com.
