Assistant Commissioning Accountant
Duration: Temporary 6-12 months
Location: Remote
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, 37.5 hours
Salary: £15.97 - £18.37 per hour (Inclusive of Holiday Pay)
An opening has arisen for an Assistant Commissioning Accountant on a temporary basis in Nottingham, working on a remote basis. This position will require candidates who have a strong level of Microsoft Office Excel and experience with Access finance system.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar position and be responsible for:
- Checking and verifying the integrity of data and resolve any issues arising from those checks
- Ensure that all data is valid and reliable; identify, investigate and resolve data anomalies as required
- Support the production of accurate and timely monthly contract monitoring information in line with the national Payment by Results technical guidance
- Ensure that appropriate systems are in place for the timely receipt of non-computerised activity data to ensure payment
- Provide expert analysis of contract monitoring information including monthly forecasting
- Support colleagues in the team in the implementation and development of Payment by Results (PbR), for example modelling / analysis of the financial implications of changes to national or local prices
- Ensure all financial source information can withstand both internal and external scrutiny - this must include a clear, reconcilable audit trail from source data to Contract reporting
- Provide activity / income information and analysis on request for both internal customers
- To Lead on the monthly reporting of Maternity datasets and invoicing, ensuring that the information is accurate and timely and in line with the national Payment by Results technical guidance
- Liaise with Financial Management and Divisions to analyse and explain significant variances to Contract plans during the financial year
- Maintain an up to date expert knowledge and understanding of Payment by Results guidance
- To deputise for the commissioning analyst when required
- To perform as a member of the Commissioning team and recognise team objectives and targets are shared
The successful candidate will have:
- A good level of Microsoft Office Excel
- Experience of Access Finance System
