Assistant Head of Finance
Duration: Permanent
Location: Remote (Office based in Nottingham)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, 37.5 hours
Salary: £47,126 - £53,219 per annum
An opening has arisen for an Assistant Head of Finance on a permanent basis in Nottingham. This position will require candidates who have a strong background of working within the NHS and in senior financial management roles.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar position and be responsible for:
- Delivering all statutory reporting including the financial accounts
- Ensure that a comprehensive and transparent control and reconciliation system for ICB budgets (programme budgets and running costs) is developed and maintained
- Regularly review accounting controls, financial recording systems and procedure notes in place and implement self-initiated improvements
- Contribute to the drafting and agreement of highly complex budgets and to review those developed by others in the team
- Provide training to staff in financial control processes
- Act as the key liaison point with Internal Audit
- Seek opportunities to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Directorate, the services it provides and the standards of financial management and control
- Responsible for day to day management and development of the Reporting & Control team and Corporate Management Accounts team
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive NHS experience
