Bid Writer (Children’s Services and Greens Spaces Funding)

Key Responsibilities:
- Writing bids to secure funding for Children’s Services and Green Spaces funding
- Drafting an External Funding Strategy, identifying and securing funding from a range of agencies, leading on bid submission, and coordinating action across Council services and partners to maximize success
- To lead / deliver active joint working across Council departments and key partners / stakeholders that supports the successful implementation of the External Funding Strategy
- To develop strong relationships with the Voluntary, Private and Commercial Sectors
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months initially, with high likelihood of extensions
Rate: Negotiable dependant on experience
Location: mostly remote – However occasional trips to the West Midlands will be required
Low Carbon Funding Officer / Bid Writer
Expertise in bid writing for Low Carbon projects and an environmental awareness. Experience working within a local authority would be highly beneficial.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing Bids for and securing significant levels of external funding that support to achieve net zero carbon ambitions
- Seeking opportunities for funding, leading on bid submission, and coordinating action across Council services and partners to maximize success
- To support the implementation of the External Funding Strategy with a focus on net zero objectives as set out in the Council’s Climate Change Action Plan
- To support decarbonisation plans for the Council’s estate and provide advice to the Council and partners on matters relating to carbon reduction and sustainability, ensuring the Council is well placed to adapt to emerging developments and to maximise funding opportunities
- To develop strong relationships with the Voluntary, Private, Commercial Sectors across the area and beyond, to support the delivery of the External Funding Strategy
- Ultimately to lead on the drafting of bid submissions that are timely, of high quality and that succeed in bringing significant amounts of new funding
