City Planning Officer

Venn Group are currently recruiting for an interim City Planning Officer for a well-regarded City Council in Devon.

The successful candidate will provide a customer-focussed Development Management service for the council for 3 months with potential for a further extension of this period.

This role is part time for 3 days per week (22.2 hours).

Location: Devon

Duration: 3 months +

Rate: Negotiable

IR35 status: Inside IR35

Responsibilities:

Delivery of a range of developments from initial enquiry to completion
Householder proposals, small residential and business schemes, changes of use, advertisements, work to trees and more
Initial planning investigation work, appeals, certificate of lawfulness applications and permitted development enquiries

Essential experience:

Previous Development Management experience and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation
Great oral and written communication skills
A clean driving licence. Most of the city is reachable by foot, bicycle, bus or train, but after lockdown you may have the opportunity to drive the Council’s pool cars to undertake site visits
