Community Support Worker Immediately Required
Duration: Temporary Contracts (Potential to go permanent)
Location: Nuneaton & Bedworth
Hours: Monday – Friday 09:00am-17:00pm
Pay Rate: £11.06 Inclusive of Holiday Pay
An opening has arisen for a Support Worker for a homeless charity in Coventry. This role is to support people with 1:1 support sessions to achieve their wellbeing goals, for example, signposting to organisations within the community. To be considered for this post you must hold a full driving licence and access to a vehicle along with an Enhanced DBS.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Provide support to service users in an enabling way so that people take control of their lives, connect to their communities and develop, use and share their skills and talents
- Support people to assess their own support needs and identify their aspirations using a range of person centred support planning tools
- Ensure that support plans put the individual at the centre and in control and that they address support and risk needs and enable Members to achieve their aspirations
- Support people to develop and understand their Individual support plans
- Assist Members to find and use information, guidance and advice. There will be times when you need to provide that information, guidance or advice to ensure that Members are able to make informed choices and decisions
- Provide assistance and/or supervision in accordance with an individual’s agreed care plan, respecting their preferences and taking steps to preserve their dignity
- Enable service users to achieve their personal outcomes for themselves or in the least controlling way wherever possible
- All of your actions will demonstrate your respect for the rights of the Members that you support and for their decisions and choices
- Promote and support Member involvement activities as required
- Encourage Members to value work, supporting them to find and maintain employment
The successful candidate will have:
- An enhanced DBS
- Full driving licence with access to a vehicle
- Previous experience working in this position
