We are currently recruiting a Credit Controller on behalf of one of our clients in Ashton-Under-Lyne. The position is initially on a four month temporary basis (37.5 hours per week) due to an illness within the Finance team, however, there is scope for the role to go permanent should things work out well over the course of your employment.
Day-to-day duties include the following:
- Contacting clients via telephone, email, and letter, sending out required documentation, i.e. copy invoices, statements chasing letters etc.
- Identifying, investigating and facilitating the prompt resolution of credit control queries.
- Maintaining notes so that all stakeholders can view the account status.
- Liaising with account managers regarding clients who have reached their credit limits.
- Input of receipts and allocation of those receipts against accounts.
- Reporting any overdue debts.
- Managing a busy portfolio of customers, build relations with customers to help recover debts.
- Ensuring customers pay on time
Essential skills:
- Developed IT competence and PC Skills including use of Sage 50 essential & Microsoft Office.
- Confident communications skills at all levels
- Self-discipline, good awareness of deadlines, highly organised and able to prioritise and plan
- Strong team player
- Strong administration skills
- Excellent customer service skills, a calm manner when dealing with hot-headed clients
- Able to manage several key issues concurrently
- Ability to communicate at all levels – written, verbal,
- High levels of personal integrity
- Proactive and confident – able to adapt to new requirements
Knowledge:
- Previous knowledge of working in a Credit Control position
- Knowledge of working on excel spreadsheets
- Knowledge of Sage systems
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) ability to build & maintain relationships
- Working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent team working skills
