Digital Delivery Manager
Hertfordshire (with remote working)
£225 per day inside IR35
The Digital Delivery Manager has responsibility for leading and delivering on individual projects across the Digital Strategy while working with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure that milestones within the project plan are met. The post holder will work in conjunction with the Head of Digital Delivery, IM&T leadership team, clinical leads and provider organisations. The postholder will be part of a team that supports and influences the development and delivery of the Trust Digital Strategy to create an instinctively and systemically digital Trust. The strategy is comprised of multiple projects across four key themes:
- Empowered Service Users and Carers
- Digitally enabled workforce
- Partnerships and systems leadership
- Digitally enabled care delivery
The post holder will use recognised project management tools and techniques such as Prince 2, Lean and Agile. An understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement methodology will also be used in order to align to the Trust CQI methodology. The candidate will use these tools to ensure that project milestones are delivered on time and to budget with expected outcomes monitored and achieved. The use of detailed project implementation plans and other associated project governance, workstream reports, risks and issue logs will be required to aide this.
The post holder will be involved in the setup, data collection and analysis of the project outcomes, ensuring CQI principles and practice are implemented and that electronic recording systems are in place to capture and report required data. Project status reports will be presented at the Digital Innovation Board.
The post holder may be expected to deliver additional projects to support the department and carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade which may be required to enable effective and efficient running of the department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management:
· Manage or participate in major, complex projects, including multi-disciplinary projects/teams, liaising appropriately with all concerned
· Provide relevant and timely specialist advice and guidance on own portfolio of projects/function
· Manage tasks as per project progress, risks, issues, dependencies and contingencies
· Ensure projects are progressed effectively and conform to DoH, NHS and Trust standards and policies and procedures
· Ensure deviations from project budget and timescale are identified, reported and contingencies are negotiated and agreed
· Utilise analytical, problem management, time management and computer skills in order to effectively manage the project
· Support effective project management, taking a lead for identified areas where agreed
· Work as part of a team or independently and make decisions during the life cycle of the project, in accordance with the tolerances defined by the digital innovation board or other sources
· Co-ordinate and participate in relevant internal and external working groups, providing expertise and support where requested including drafting action notes and minutes where necessary
· Promote the value and importance of the Trust Digital Strategy throughout the organisation to improve the delivery of care
· Provide expert advice and guidance to managers, health professionals and other relevant members of staff on the Digital Strategy and the relationship to their programmes of work
· Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and updating of the Digital Strategy for the organisation, ensuring it contains clearly prioritised work projects, with clear accountability and milestones for delivery which are translated into directorate, team and individual objectives
Service Management
· Develop, implement and proactively manage the Digital Strategy projects to ensure the pro-active identification of potential issues and the preparation of procedures for preventing such issues
· Assist in the management of the security of the Digital Strategy across the organisation
· Identify, report and manage risk factors associated with the Digital Strategy
· Provide technical expertise with respect to the Digital Strategy and associated training across the organisation
· Responsible for ensuring that appropriate security measures are in place in line with Trust policies to ensure the confidentiality, security and appropriate use of all data held within the systems
· Responsible for ensuring the support of relevant Trust systems is in line with national Information Governance guidelines and act as the Information Asset Administrator for the system
· Responsible for the planning, management and analysing of Digital Strategy projects, including evaluating and monitoring the complex requirements for the Digital Strategy. Adjusting projects if required
· Planning and evaluating associated training services in the organisation
· Attend any appropriate steering groups or meetings and provide advice to service managers
· Oversee the work of suppliers and contractors to ensure they deliver effective services to the organisation
· Communicate clearly and effectively with all relevant internal and external staff regarding the delivery and support of the Digital Strategy
