Drug and Alcohol Recovery Worker – Urgently Required

Our client, a housing and support charity, is urgently seeking a number of experienced Recovery Workers to join a drug and alcohol misuse service in a prison in London.

Position:          Recovery Worker

Period:            3 – 6 months with potential for extension 

Hours:             35 hours a week

Location:         London

DBS:                Enhanced

Rate:               £12 – 16 per hour

Duties for this role will include:

• Working in a prison drug and alcohol recovery service with offenders experiencing substance misuse issues and addiction

• Managing a caseload of between 15 – 20 clients 

• Conducting risk assessments of offenders coming into the prison with drug and alcohol issues

• Creating support plans for clients and providing one on one and group therapies

• Carrying out client centred treatment using both harm reduction and abstinence based treatment approaches depending on clients’ needs

• Reviewing ongoing care and treatment liaising closely with healthcare and other agencies

Essential requirements:

• Experience working with clients with substance misuse issues and strong knowledge of drug and alcohol recovery treatments

• Experience creating individual support plans to suit a clients’ needs

• Strong communication, interpersonal and administration skills
