Environmental Health Officer (EHO)
Summary:
We are working with a large West Midlands organisation who are looking for a fully qualified, enthusiastic and reliable Environmental Health/Food Safety Officer registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board.
They looking for someone with recent experience of conducting Food Safety Inspections. This role is ideally tailored towards somebody with public sector food premises inspection experience.
The candidate should be competent in Food Safety and Food Standards as detailed by the current FSA Food Law Code of Practice and have the ability to carry out inspections in accordance with the relevant legislation and national codes of practice
Key Duties:
- Interpret and implement appropriate legislation, codes of practice and policies as per specialist area
- Act as an Enforcement Officer on all matters relating to the work of the Citizen & Consumer Protection Team
- Prepare prosecution reports for legal proceedings and represent the authority in Court when required.
- Write clear and concise reports and correspondence in relation with any inspection, investigation or enforcement action undertaken
- Manage an allocated caseload with an appropriate level of supervision
- Carry out detailed on-site inspections and develop subsequent reports
- Plan and implement a schedule of inspections, investigations on regulated organisations
Requirements:
- Be a qualified Environmental Health Officer, registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board
- Understanding of Equality, Quality and Customer Care Policies and Procedures
- Driving licence is required due to the nature of the role
Rate: Negotiable dependent on experience (Inside IR35)
