Interim Finance Manager Immediately Required
Our client, a well-respected public sector body in Gloucestershire, is looking for a Finance Manager to come on board on a temporary basis for a 6 month contract. The main task in this time will be to see through the arboretum’s annual budgeting process where the budget must be prepared and submitted by 31 October.
Location: Gloucestershire (Substantial Remote)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Length of Contract: 6 Months
Hourly Rate: £15.00 -£17.00 via Umbrella (DOE)

Day to Day Duties:
- Support the arboretum in continuously improving its financial position within the context of the company’s strategic objectives
- Lead on the submission of annual business plans and monthly management accounts and forecasts
- Build collaborative and supportive relationships with budget managers across the arboretum, supporting them in accessing and interpreting financial data
- Support sound business and financial decision making across all functions, and provide financial performance analysis supporting short, medium and long-term planning
- Assist colleagues in monitoring the financial performance of arboretum business partners
- With the Programme Manager ensure effective systems for assessing the financial aspects of project proposals and monitoring projects involving the use of third party funds
- Report directly to the Arboretum Director taking an active role along with other heads of function in realising the arboretum’s vision
- Contribute to the arboretum’s ‘master planning’ process and the generation of a portfolio of programmes and projects to help deliver the 10-year Vision, including developing the overarching ‘commercial model’ and creating individual business cases
- Provide leadership to the Business Support team, and develop the strategic direction of the service. Line manage the full time Office Manager
- Build collaborative and supportive relationships with national finance team and District finance managers
- Lead the Business Support team in ensuring compliance with corporate governance procedures, financial controls and risk management
- Provide professional judgement and advice on financial and business improvement initiatives
Essential Skills:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA Part Qualified (Or AAT level 4)
- Previous experience with Team Leadership
- Intermediate MS Excel
- Experience with financial systems and providing day-to-day financial management services including: budgetary control; forecasting; financial performance analysis
