Fire Project Surveyor Required
Location: Yeovil (must be willing to travel the operational area)
Rate: £34,239 - £45,281 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits)
Length: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Carry out inspections to ensure all works are delivered in accordance with agreed specification and quality standards ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and the organisations policies and procedures
- Ensure excellent standards of customer care are applied to each contract. Deal with all relevant customer queries or complaints in a sympathetic, pragmatic and prompt manner as per agreed policies and procedures
- Engage with other areas of the business in a ‘one team’ approach, sharing knowledge and expertise in support of developing improvements and changes
- Liaise with the wider fire safety team providing project management services for any fire projects assigned, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are working in-line with the project delivery timelines and relevant standards
- Assist on delivery of fire safety programmes, including overseeing completed works comply to the required regulations
- Liaise with the wider fire safety team on internal and external communication plans relevant to programme delivery
- Lead on from the fire risk assessment process and/or other processes, visit, inspect and provide detailed specification for fire remedial works and complete post inspections once these tasks are completed
- Specify and manage fire safety improvement works, close fire risk assessment recommendation and improve safety
- Ensure that the Administrator sufficiently collects, inputs and maintains compliance system data in accordance with fire safety programmes
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the position
The successful candidate will have:
- Effective interpersonal skills, including teamwork, networking and negotiation skills with the ability to positively motivate all stakeholders, whilst building trusted relationships
- A motivated and enthusiastic individual, who can work under pressure and prioritise workloads to deliver an outstanding service to the partnered departments
- Possess an industry recognised formal fire safety qualification (level 3 minimum)
- Good understanding of UK fire safety guidance and benchmark standards for existing buildings
- Experience of contract Surveying, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to customer care
- Be able to demonstrate detailed work orders including. specification & materials, also drawings
- Proven knowledge of the registry report system of Building Safety is essential with proven experience in Social Housing
- Understanding of office software packages and an appreciation of the opportunities resented by software designed specifically for maintenance management
- Full driving licence and access to own transport, or ability to travel in a timely and efficient manner to attend meetings in locations not easily accessed by public transport
- Keep informed of changes in fire safety requirements, Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act
