Interim Head of People Services
Our client based in Cornwall is looking for a Head of People Services to come on board on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month contract.

Hourly Rate: up to£39.51 via Umbrella Company
Day-to-Day Duties:
- The ability to demonstrate collaborative leadership ability where you can and take ownership for and deliver the strategic direction of the POD function
- Formulation of the POD strategy from the People Strategy and other Organisational strategies and conversion of these into local action plans across their diverse departments
- Supporting the achievement of the POD goals both transactional and transformational by setting and delivering key results for their teams
- Ensuring that the team utilise their budgets to the maximum effect and take responsibility for delivery of any opportunities to make CIP savings
- Interpretation of sensitive / complex financial information and data and have the ability to research current professional trends (in terms of cost-effective service delivery)
- Ensuring proper financial controls are adhered to and to use such controls to measure the cost-effective delivery of the services provided by their teams
- The initiation and leadership of complex projects which will often involve co-ordination with other diverse functions / teams
- Leading on partnership working and proactively engaging with strategic partners and key stakeholders
- Deputising for the Deputy Director of People and OD as required and be able to demonstrate a high level of autonomous action where the post holder can represent the POD function as a whole and make appropriate strategic decisions in respect of their part of the function
- Ensuring that their diverse teams are managed by highly competent Subject Matter Experts, who are supported and led to ensure the core deliverables and key results of the departments are achieved or exceeded
Essential Skills:
- Professional knowledge acquired through degree and experience to master’s level
- Highly specialist knowledge of one or more HR topics acquired through degree and professional HR qualification plus additional training to master’s level or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a large complex organisation
- Evidence of some Senior Manager Team level experience
