Homeless Support Worker

Venn Group are currently recruiting for a Homeless Support Worker for our Supported Housing client based in Sedgemoor to begin a full time temporary contract for 3 months + to support their clients who are at risk of homelessness
Location: Sedgemoor
Contract Type: 3 Months +
Hours: 37.5 Monday to Friday (08:00-16:00 / 14:00 – 22:00) 1 in 4 weekends a month
Hourly Rate: £13.66 via Umbrella

Day to Day Duties:
- Work in a supported housing project to help homeless clients move on from the service into their own accommodation
- Create a welcoming environment for new residents and be the point of contact to provide advice and support regarding housing
- Write and develop support plans tailored to individual’s needs and update their progress with moving on
- Support clients in finding and engaging with external or statutory services which will be able to assist them with their needs and future development
- Support clients in ensuring that they have access to everything they will need to progress through to independent living (ID, Bank Accounts, and Health Services etc.)
- Support clients in learning new life skills from within the property which will assist them in living independently
- Confidently design and lead on group sessions for all residents within the property to take part in such as cooking and gardening
- Maintain clear and professional boundaries with all contacts and promote the concept of independence, not dependence, through the support you provide
- Take an active role in meetings and activities with groups of residents, colleagues, partners, contributing positively to the development of the service
- Actively work alongside the Homeless Support Enablers and Tenancy Sustainment Support Enabler to create a clear pathway of development for individuals to move on into independent provision
Essential Skills:
- Experience of supporting vulnerable clients with complex needs
- Current enhanced DBS
- Access to own car
