A local authority client in London is seeking a Housing IT Project Manager to lead an options appraisal to assess the council’s options for possible housing system functionality for asset management, fire safety and compliance. They will go on to lead the procurement, configuration and implementation of this functionality.
This role will suit someone who wants to embrace agile delivery, but whose background is in technology project management and who is passionate about delivery challenging projects to timescale, within agreed budgets and scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a Discovery Project to assess options for Housing system functionality for asset management, fire safety and compliance, planned maintenance, appointment scheduling, and mobile working
- Develop, configure, implement and maintain the above functionality
- Lead project budget, deliverables, risks and business case development
- Lead the best practice of project management and delivery for digital and customer services; set practice and standards; offer guidance; lead a community of practice; work with other project managers in the organisation to improve together
- Deliver end-to-end technology projects for complex and cross-cutting areas, including hardware and software rollouts, service and system upgrades, and training
- Manage suppliers and partners involved in projects, negotiate commercial relationships and agreements, mitigate risks from working with external parties
- Use creativity and judgement to identify and translate user need into project deliverables, working to balance financial efficiencies with new functionality
Skills and experience required:
- Understanding of issues relating to housing and related systems
- Extensive experience of configuring systems to improve process efficiency, compliance, and customer service
- Ability to manage large and complex technology and digital projects and programmes
- Knowledge of and ability to use a range of Project Management tools and techniques
- Ability to plan strategically, prioritise and organise resources in order to deliver services
