A Housing Association in Oxfordshire who believe in excellent, local housing management and building strong, vibrant and sustainable communities are looking for a Housing Officer on a Fixed Term Contract to join their team. You would work as part of their busy team providing high quality, responsive and customer focused housing management services to residents and agencies. The role is paying £30kper annum plus excellent benefits including hybrid working.
Housing Officer
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Provide advice and support to tenants on ASB matters, respond to issues in accordance with the organisations policies, procedures and service standards
- Deliver a first class ASB case management service by investigating and reviewing cases and communicating regularly with complainants to promptly resolve cases and deliver customer satisfaction
- Investigate and tackle tenancy fraud by liaising with partner agencies and process legal proceedings where required
- Prepare legal applications, liaise with solicitors and barristers, carry out interviews and prepare witness statements
- Represent legal cases on behalf of the organisation in court and manage/ attend evictions
- Pro-actively identify safeguarding issues, case manage and support those at risk by working with agencies to ensure all follow up actions are recorded and completed
- Attend Community Safety Partnership liaison meetings, working directly with Neighbourhood and Problem Solving Policing teams to provide evidence for cuckooing, warrants and closure orders
- Process tenancy changes (e.g. assignments and successions) and ensure residents are provided with the correct advice and support
- Deliver effective estate management services including regular estate inspections and H&S risk assessments and pro-actively identify local or emerging issues
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of all actions and contacts as appropriate
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience in housing, estate management and ASB casework including the ability to interview victims and witnesses of ASB, managing complex project work, drafting statements and preparing evidence for court
- Ability to deal effectively with tenants who may be vulnerable, difficult or aggressive
- Excellent communication, numeracy and IT skills
- Ability to prioritise effectively and work on own initiative
- Full driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle
