Senior Housing Officer and Housing Officer

Venn Group Social Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for a temporary Houisng Officer and senior Housing Officer for a Social Housing provider in Somerset to begin employment within their expanding team.
Location: Somerset
Contract Type: 12 months +
Hours: 37.5 hours Monday to Friday
Rate: £13.00 - £18.00umbrella
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the general management of 7 estate officers
- Work closely with the case manager to deliver housing management and be involved in the transformation of services
- Attend external meetings to assess the development and delivery of services
- Regularly monitor performance of staff
- Supervise and support the team in relation to day to day issues and tasks including policies and procedures
- Develop links and partnerships with support services, community protection services and other stakeholders
- Ensure incidents of neighbour nuisance, anti-social behaviour and racial harassment are investigated, and appropriate action taken in liaison with other agencies
- Carry out generic housing management for a patch of between 700-800 properties
- Oversee all aspects of tenancy and estate management
- Responsible for pre tenancy work, conduct sign ups, administration and compliance
- Carry out “new tenancy visits”, “settling in visits” and all follow up meetings
- Dealing with mutual exchanges and succession of tenancy
- Conduct sign ups and inductions for new tenants
- Resolving any cases of low level ASB and client complaints
- Dealing with repairs queries
- Multi agency working with social services, police and other external organisations
- Conduct estate inspections and ensure that all properties meet health and safety standards
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Access, Excel and Outlook
- Full UK drivers licence and access to own car
- Experience as a senior housing officer/overseeing staff in a social housing role
- Demonstrable housing management experience
- Experience in all aspects of tenancy management and housing and tenancy legislation
- Demonstrable experience of mutual exchanges and successions
- Current DBS
Housing Officer
Day to day responsibilities include:
Carry out generic housing management for a patch of 500 properties both urban and rural
Oversee all aspects of tenancy and estate management
Responsible for pre tenancy work, conduct sign ups and handle all administration and compliance required
Carry out “new tenancy visits”, “settling in visits” and all follow up meetings
Dealing with mutual exchanges and succession of tenancy
Conduct sign ups and inductions for new tenants
Resolving any cases of low level ASB and client complaints
Dealing with repairs queries
Multi agency working with social services, police and other external organisations
Conduct estate inspections and ensure that all properties meet health and safety standards
Report any maintenance issues and repairs
