Venn Group are currently looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to begin working with our client, a well-known housing charity, in one of their London Services. The role will require someone who has experience working with young people in a hostel environment and who has an outgoing, positive attitude.
Position: Housing Support Worker
Period: 6 months (Possibility of Extension)
Shifts: Monday to Sunday (Weekend work will be required)
Hours: 35 hours a week on a rota basis
Location: London
Rate: £11 - £14 per hour
Duties of the role will include:

Supporting vulnerable young people with background including mental health, gang violence, ex-offenders and drug and alcohol misuse

Managing pre-tenancy relationship building with potential clients referred from the outreach team

Assisting clients with day-to-day tenancy issues, including payment of rent, claiming benefits

Managing a caseload of young people

Carrying out support plans and risk assessments

Liaise with external agencies as appropriate to ensure the ongoing support needs of clients

Working in line with other key agencies, both in statutory and voluntary sectors

Ensuring clients have access to relevant external support services
Essential requirements:

Experience in working with young complex need clients

Good working awareness of outreach and accommodation projects and services that can help vulnerable people

Experience working with vulnerable people providing support, in the field of supported housing and homelessness
