Housing Support Worker

A Supported Living organisation in Wiltshire is looking for a temporary Support Worker to join their team in providing a valuable service to the vulnerable individuals at risk of homelessness and support them to gain independence and improve their overall wellbeing
Location: Wiltshire
Duration: 3 Months +
Hours: 37.5 (7am – 3pm and 2pm – 10pm)
Rate: £13.66 via Umbrella

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Provide practical and emotional support for individuals at risk of homelessness; helping them to gain and develop independence and sustain their tenancy in accordance with their Tenancy Agreements
- Assist service users with Housing and Tenancy related matters; supporting service users to access Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and other entitlements to help them manage their tenancy agreement
- Manage a caseload between 7 – 10 users; updating weekly developments to their person-centred support plans
- Use a defined STAR Method to create SMART goals to improve areas of their lives: (Financial, Social, Physical and Mental Wellbeing, Meaningful Use of their time, Social Networks, and self-care skills)
- Signpost users’ to other support service, providing a multi-agency approach, where appropriate
- Responsible for conducting Risk and Needs assessments for users
- Safeguard users from harm, abuse, or neglect
- Attend support plan review meetings with Line Managers to see areas of improvement
- Assist service users to develop practical life skills, such as budgeting, cooking and cleaning etc
- Working in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures to ensure Health and Safety practices are adhered to
Essential job requirements:
- A current enhanced DBS
- Previous experience of working with complex needs clients
- Driver with access to own vehicle (desirable)
