Income Recovery Officer - Urgently Required

Venn Group are urgently seeking an experienced Income Recovery Officer to join one of our housing clients, a small specialist supported housing association. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring rent arrears whilst being the main point of contact for technical queries across the business.

Position:                     Income Recovery Officer

Hours:                       5 days per week

Location:                   North London

Duration:                   3 months

Responsibilities:

•             Manage and monitor all rent accounts including current and former tenant arrears.

•             Ensure that all high rent accounts are monitored weekly and appropriate action taken to reduce rent arrears.

•             Update SDM with all actions

•             To ensure that the correct escalation process is followed before serving legal notices and taking court action.

•             Prepare and serve legal notices

•             To conduct welfare benefits checks for residents or signpost to the relevant agencies.

•             Responsible for all relevant documents for court proceedings.

•             Ensure that all pre-court protocol is complied with before issuing proceedings’

•             Upload claims onto the PCOL system

•             Conduct home visits to tenants where necessary.

•             Complete Income and Expenditure statements with residents

•             First point of contact regarding all rent enquiries.

•             Liaise with the DWP and local authorities, concerning housing benefit, overpayments and direct payments.

•             Demonstrate Equalities whilst performing in the role.
