Interim Management Accountant
Our client, a well-respected public sector body in Bournemouth, is looking for a Management Accountant to come on board on a temporary basis for a 3 month contract. The Management Accountant will work closely with the Finance Business Partner and colleagues within the Finance team to provide a comprehensive range of specialist and expert financial advice
Location: Bournemouth (substantial remote working offered)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Length of Contract: 3 Months
Hourly Rate: £17.20 -£19.60 via Umbrella
Day to Day Duties:
- Provide and present financial management information, analysis and advice to Managers and other staff
- Develop relationships with directorates through monthly meetings; providing advice and information to budget holders and to gain an understanding of the key drivers for each directorate
- Produce monthly budget reports in line with departmental deadlines, investigate and provide appropriate advice on complex queries from internal and external sources
- Assist with the production of high quality, consistent and timely financial information and advice to support the finance department and the wider business activities
- To work with Managers and budget holders to develop robust financial forecasts
- Monitor and report on the progress of Cost Improvement Plans (CIPs) within the Group, highlighting areas of risk to senior managers and ensuring these are closely monitored
- Assist with coordinating the Group’s annual financial plan and contribute to the development of the Groups forward financial and service strategy and assist with the development and implementation of programmes to deliver the strategy
- Act as a designated financial management representative at directorate and operational meetings to ensure that all financial implications are considered
- Provide costings for service developments and reconfigurations which will involve discussions with clinicians, managers, budget holders and finance staff
- Provide training and guidance to budget managers on a range of financial issues including budget monitoring, capital and financial procedures
- Post holder will be a point of contact for the group for financial queries and is expected to constructively challenge on financial matters and provide expert advice
Essential Skills:
- NHS experience
- Extensive accountancy experience within the public sector
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel)
- Accountant Qualified (ACCA, CIMA) or part Qualified
- Experience liaising with Budget Holders
