Interim Senior PR & Digital Officer

One of our local authority clients is looking to recruit an interim Senior PR & Digital Officer to join their reputable communications team and lead, develop and operationally manage and contribute to the building of the authority’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deputise for the Head of Reputation in leading the team to protect and enhance the reputation of the authority
- Gain positive coverage for the authority locally, across London and nationally via different channels in the media and directly to residents
- Advise and support council officers and Cabinet members on reputation matters and build strong relationships with other directorates
- To be responsible for the improvement of the council’s digital channels and aware of any new developments in digital channels and how we might use them
Required skills and experience:
- Strong evidence of PR, media and digital skills
- Experience of proactive and reactive media relations
- Experience of providing direct advice and briefing to senior managers and/or elected members on media and reputation issues
- Ability to work at pace
- Previous and recent public sector experience, ideally local government
