Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer

Up to £55 umbrella per hour

Local Authority in London

3 months initially with high likelihood of long term extension

36 hours per week, 1 day office attendance per week

Venn Group is working with a fantastic local authority in London in their search for a Civil Litigation Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3 month period.

Requirements:

• Qualified Lawyer, with a valid practising certificate in the UK
• Specialism within Civil Litigation and evidence of practising this post-qualification
• Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation

Duties/Responsibilities:
Generally supporting the development of the local authority with senior members of the legal team.  

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Advising all of the clients of the organisation and providing representation when necessary
• Undertaking research as requested in relation to civil litigation including housing, homelessness, property and licensing matters
• Attending and advocating in court
• Advising officers and members in a proactive and sensitive manner
• Mentoring and training less experienced team members as appropriate
• Deputising for senior lawyers as and when required
