Venn Groups specialist Public Sector Legal Team are working with a friendly and flexible Local Authority in the Midlands who are seeking a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their team.
Role: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer
Region: Midlands
Duration: 3 months with the likelihood of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: 20-25 hours per week which can be performed on a flexible basis
Working Arrangement: Remote working, with office attendance required on the first day for a team induction
Rate: Up to £55 per hour Umbrella
This role is a great opportunity for both an experienced Lawyer (either Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX) to join a friendly Organisation to assist on a range of general commercial contracts caseload, or for an enthusiastic and organised NQ Solicitor.
This role will not contain any procurement or construction matters, so is an ideal opportunity for those looking to further their Commercial Contracts experience in a Local Government role.
Duties may include:
- Handling a general commercial contracts caseload for a Local Authority including reviewing any contracts that may be of high risk and drafting any bespoke agreements as and when required
- Preparing and processing all legal documents including contracts and agreements on behalf of the Local Authority
- Providing legal advice on behalf of the Local Authority on contractual matters and liaising with third parties and both internal and external stakeholders
- Negotiating with third parties as and when required on contractual matters
