Locum Debt Lawyer (Housing and Civil Litigation)
Up to £55 umbrella per hour
Local Authority in a Home County
6 month initial period with possibility for extension
35 hours per week, 1 day per week in the office
Are you an ardent Debt Lawyer with experience in Housing and Civil Litigation looking to make a difference? Venn Group is working with a well-renowned local authority in a Home County in their search for a Debt Lawyer (Housing and Civil Litigation) on a locum basis for an initial 6 month period, with the potential for extension to suit the organisation’s needs.
Requirements:
- A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor, Barrister or a Fellow of CILEX
- Post-qualification experience on debt matters and civil litigation
- Knowledge and experience of Civil Procedure Rules, CIL and s106 debts
- Experience of handling caseloads of Adult Social Care and debt cases
- Proven experience of running multi-track claims
- Experience working within local authorities, or for a housing association
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Advising the clients of the organisation on all aspects of Debt Law and providing representation when necessary
- Conducting and advocating hearings
- Advising officers and members in a proactive and sensitive manner
- Mentoring and training less experienced team members
- Deputising and supporting senior lawyers as appropriate
- Working efficiently under tight deadlines
