Locum Freedom of Information Officer – Up to £20 per hour umbrella – All Remote Working – South East England
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a reputable Local Authority in the South East of England, who are recruiting for a highly motivated and organised individual to join the team as a Locum Freedom of Information Officer.
Ideally, the client would prefer this assignment to be worked on a part-time basis and this role is offered for an initial period of 3 Months with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate would also be immediately available.
This opportunity is ideal for those with existing experience gained within Local Government however candidates without extensive FOI experience may also be considered.
Duties may include:

Working within the Freedom of Information team processing a backlog of FOI requests

Processing and reporting on DSAR, EIA, GDPR and FOI requests within the legal compliance timeframes

Liaising with the relevant business area to obtain all information required for the requests

Creating and providing FOI briefings

Maintaining of central logs relating to requests for personal data, data breaches, Data Protection Act 2018 and Data Protection Impact Assessments

Processing Data Subject Rights requests under GDPR such as right to erasure, rectification in liaison with the relevant business area and within the legal compliance timeframes.

Reviewing redactions applied on documents and Ensuring that all sensitive information voided

Answering any queries they may have as to the location, content and importance of all the documents

Drafting chronologies, crib sheets, file notes, other miscellaneous documents for the use of senior lawyers

Undertaking several fact-finding, fact checking and legal research exercises
This position offers an attractive rate of up to £20 per hour umbrella dependent on experience of the individual candidate.
