Locum Principal Childcare Lawyer
Up to £65 umbrella per hour
Local Authority in London
6 month initial period with possibility for extension
35 hours per week, ideally 1 day office attendance per week
Are you a passionate Principal Childcare Lawyer looking to make a real difference? Venn Group is working with a fantastic local authority in London in their search for a Principal Childcare Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 6-month period, with the potential for extension depending on performance and project needs.
Requirements:
- Qualified Lawyer, with a valid practising certificate in the UK
- Specialism within Childcare Law and the Children Act, must have management experience
- Extensive evidence of practising Childcare Law post-qualification
- Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Advising the clients of the organisation on all aspects of Childcare Law and providing representation when necessary
- Undertaking research as requested in relation to Childcare Law including care proceedings, adoption, residence and contact orders
- Attending and advocating in court
- Advising officers and members in a proactive and sensitive manner
- Mentoring and training less experienced team members
- Deputising for heads of legal and other principal lawyers when necessary
