Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Location: South Kensington, London
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a busy property maintenance team supporting academic, research, and administrative facilities. This role involves working on a rotating 7-day shift pattern to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment
- Ensure plant and assets remain fully operational through proactive servicing
- Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety standards and complete risk assessments
- Use CAFM systems for reporting and assist with stock control to minimize downtime
What We’re Looking For
- Recognized apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline
- IOSH Level 2 qualification
- Proven experience in building services maintenance and mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and fault-find effectively
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service
- Computer literacy (MS Office; experience with Planon is a plus)
- Physically fit to work at heights and in confined spaces
Technical Expertise
Experience with systems such as:
Hot water calorifiers, pumps, fans, steam and gas boilers, ventilation, compressed air, chillers, heat pumps, district heating, and more
