Mental Health Support Worker
Our client, a prestigious support provider in South Wales urgently requires a Mental Health Support Worker to join their team and provide practical and emotional support to those with moderate - high mental health challenges outin the community. The post holder will help service users’ access treatment, rehabilitation and housing support services, and local authorities.
Location: South Wales
Contract duration: Temporary 3 months +
Hours: Monday – Friday (Hybrid) 37 hours per week
Hourly rate: £12.99 Via Umbrella

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Deliver person-centred housing related support; promoting wellbeing and independence
- Manage a caseload (14 – 16 cases) and organize 1-1 support session and update support plans
- Complete the Needs and Risks assessments for service users and upload them onto a database
- Provide a multi-agency approach to support service users’, liaising with other support services to help users’ to improve their mental wellbeing and achieve SMART goals
- Assist service users to apply for benefits and entitlements to increase income and opportunities
- Update the Social Security system and housing legislation; ensuring clients are referred for specialist advice where appropriate
- Ensure that clients have voices heard and respected
- Work as part of the Housing and Tenancy Support Team and the wider Newport Mind staff Team to develop and deliver activities that achieve positive outcomes for Newport Mind tenants/ clients
- Ensure that all relevant information is are updated onto the internal database and communicated to the relevant teams
- Work in accordance with best practice, legal requirements, the policies and procedures of Newport Mind
- Attend weekly team meetings and support plan evaluation with managers or team leaders
Essential criteria include:
- Enhanced DBS
- Access to a car (Travel Expenses paid for)
