Network Lead
Duration: 8 months
Location: Remote/London
Clearance Required: CTC
An organisation that is supporting UK Parliament is seeking a Network Lead to manage the deployment of existing network architecture into newly commissioned buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support services are provided by 3rd party organisations which must be managed appropriately, ensuring that the organisation’s requirements are delivered
- Advise on and assist with the assessment of the potential impact of specific planned technical changes, in order to help ensure that potential compromise or weakening of existing security controls is minimised
- Influence design and development of new and changed systems and services to optimise operational efficiency
- Monitor service providers, service quality and health & safety; ensure that network performance and traffic is monitored, review performance of networks, suppliers and service provided to users
- Liaise with developers, clients/users, and service management to ascertain information relevant to determining capacity requirements of new or existing services, ongoing developments, service levels and ad hoc sizing requirements, advising on findings as necessary
- Ensure that procedures and working practices for the efficient and effective running of all tasks associated with operating and controlling the installed hardware and software are developed and maintained
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in infrastructure network architecture design, implementation (WAN, WLAN and data centres) and collaboration with 3rd parties
- Experience of wireless campus deployments, historic buildings would be beneficial but is not essential
- Robust experience with modern network security including segmentation, network access control
- Ability to produce technical documentation, proposals and options papers
- Cisco certified to CCNP level or equivalent
