Night Support Worker vacancy

The client is looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker to work in a homeless hostel that supports clients aged 18-65, based in Bedfordshire
Length: Temporary to permanent
Location: Cublington, LU7 0LA
Hours: 37 hours a week working every other weekend
Shifts: 9:00pm – 5:00am
The role involves:
- Supporting homeless clients to become more independent in temporary accommodation
- Dealing with mental health crisis that may arise
- Providing a night support service to residents and visitors within a homeless hostel
- Controlling access to the building
- Monitoring CCTV systems to identify any possible incidents
- Undertaking frequent and regular patrols of the building and monitoring any anti-social behaviour
- Dealing with health and safety issues
- Acting as a fire warden in the event of a fire alarm being triggered
- Contacting the “on call” manager in the event of an emergency or serious incident
- Ensuring tenants adhere to their tenancy agreements
- Signposting service users to specialist services when required
- Turning around void rooms within a timely manner which includes cleaning duties and removal of waste and rubbish
- This role does involve lone working
Essential requirements:
- Experience with supporting vulnerable people to become more independent
- Experience working night shifts
- Due to the remote location of the role with no public transport links, you will need to be a driver with access to a car
- An enhanced DBS from within 3 years or willingness to obtain a new one
