Office Administrator
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an award winning College in Lambeth as an Office Receptionist and Administrator. The post holder will be at the heart of the college’s communication, leading reception duties, maintaining confidential records, supporting learners and staff, and handling inquiries from stakeholders.
Job responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, answering routine phone calls, taking messages, redirecting calls as necessary, and handling inquiries
- Oversee the visitor sign-in process
- Maintain and regularly update learner files, supporting processes related to admissions, withdrawals, transfers, and health-related matters, including changes in medication
- Oversee and manage the scheduling and provision of reception coverage
- Create and maintain accurate, confidential records, such as personal files and contact information
- Perform general administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the college including drafting letters, responding to inquiries, communicating with stakeholders regarding college policies, events, and activities, topping up Oyster cards, and issuing ID passes for learners, staff, and visitors
Person specification:
- At least one years’ experience working within an Education setting providing administrative support (Essential)
- Must hold at least level 2 English and Maths (Essential)
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages (Essential)
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills (Essential)
- Holds an enhanced DBS dated within the last three years’ (Essential)
Hourly rate: £18.47
Contract type: Temporary, until Feb 2025 (with the chance to extend/ transfer to permanent)
Working hours: 35 hours per week, term time + 3 weeks
Location: Lambeth
