Payroll Officer required immediately
Our client, a well-respected educational client in South Wales, is looking for a Payroll Officer to come on board and help with the end to end running of the payroll and pensions.
Location: South-Wales (Hybrid Remote)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Salary Range: *£25,627 - £29,614 per annum (Appointment will be made to the minimum of the scale)

Day to Day Duties:
- You will work as part of the central Payroll team within Human Resources Department to provide a highly effective and responsive customer focused Payroll and Pensions service
- Processing the day-to-day activities of the payroll function and ensuring that all staff are paid accurately and timely and in accordance with current legislation and relevant policies; and- undertake employer related pensions administration for their five pension providers
- You will provide advice and support to staff, managers, and other colleagues across the organisation, covering Payroll matters such as calculations of pay, HMRC compliance and statutory deductions, pensions administration, and general guidance on Payroll related policies and procedures
- To ensure that all starters, leavers and changes to contracts are processed in a legislative and timely manner
- Update information on system (iTrent) ensuring accuracy and consistency of data is held for starters, leavers, and changes to contracts against all payroll related information. E.g., bank details, tax codes, payroll deductions and additions to pay, court orders etc.
- Processing salary sacrifice schemes namely, Childcare vouchers, Cycle scheme, and Scottish Widows pension.
- Produce reports for auto enrolment assessments and send out relevant communications to staff
- Produce and send out electronic P45s
- Absence calculations in relation to sickness, maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, unpaid leave etc. for both statutory and occupational elements relating to these for payroll purposes
- Compliance checks of staff expenses and time-sheet submissions which have been submitted via Employee Self Service and authorise
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrable payroll experience
- Excellent organisational skills, be methodical and able to multitask
- Numerate and able to work accurately with calculations of a complex nature
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to customer care and service delivery
