Interim Payroll Technician required immediately
A position has arisen for a Payroll Technician within an NHS organisation in Bristol. This would be an initial 6 month contract supporting both monthly and weekly employees, assisting them with enquiries and communications by phone, email and in person.
Hourly Rate: £14.37 - £17.64 via Umbrella
Contract Length: 6 Months (Temp to Perm)

Your duties will include:
- Post holder will be allocated their own individual group of approximately 450 employees and working independently under limited supervision will be responsible for all processes relating to their employment
- Be responsible for the start to finish of their payroll cycle
- Set up computer records for new employees ensuring that all contractual and statutory information is complete and correct
- Pursue and resolve promptly all accuracy and authorisation errors and omissions in submitted data to ensure staff are paid accurately and on time
- Deal with any leaver overpayments by writing and verbally speaking to the individuals seeking agreement with the individual on the repayment, issuing invoices in order to seek repayment
- Calculate manual payments or advances if required when computer systems are not available
- Provide payment and information to employees in respect of maternity pay; ensuring employee statutory declarations are explained and returned on time
- To work as part of the whole payroll team, acting on rotas, to maintain an efficient service to our employees and customers
- Working with the Payroll Manager to implement regulatory guidelines policies and procedures
- Consolidate monthly cost reports for all payrolls, calculating the total payments for Tax, NI, Student Loans and any third party payments that need to be paid each month
- Supervise the training of any new Payroll Team Members. Supporting with their one to one buddy training system
Essential:
- Experience working in the payroll department and customer service environment with exposure to Tax/NI calculations, SSP, SMP, Pensions and end to end payroll workflow
- 3 years Previous Payroll Experience
