Planning & Litigation Lawyer – 30 hours p/w
A Kent based council is recruiting for a Planning and Litigation Lawyer with 2 to 3 years PQE (Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive) to join their team on a permanent part time basis, of 30 hours a week.
Location: Kent (remote working offered – flexible with some hope of office presence)
Reporting to: Head of Legal Services
Salary: £52,542 (rising after 1 year of service) pro rata
Duties:

The successful candidate would be involved with all contentious and non-contentious planning related matters such as advice, judicial reviews, planning appeals, section 106 agreements, due diligence, compulsory purchase orders and attendance at Planning Committee

Advocacy on the Council’s behalf in courts and tribunals must be carried out

It is important that you have solid experience of day-to-day management of disputes and legal claims and that you can demonstrate the flexibility to deal with various legal matters as they arise across the Council and have a proactive, solution-oriented attitude to resolving issues

You must be committed to acquiring knowledge in other areas of law affecting local government
