Principal Accountant (Children’s Services and Housing)
We are currently working with a Local Authority who require the interim assistance of a Principal Accountant. You will be involved in the preparation and reporting of budgets and closure of accounts, and will also be responsible for the provision of financial advice and monitoring/statistical information to key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide guidance to budget holders on the budget management process
- To prepare and update the documentation required for the annual budget review process
- To actively participate in the closure of accounts
- To ensure the completion of all relevant grant claims, statistical returns and performance indicators
- To liaise with the Authority’s external auditor in respect of all areas of work relevant to the team
Key Requirements:
- You must have experience working within a Local Authority
- Must be fully qualified
Start: ASAP
Duration: 3 month initially with extensions likely
Rate: £26 per hour via Umbrella Company (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid Working (Midlands based)
