Private Client Locum Solicitor

Rate: Competitive Hourly Rate
Contract: Temporary / Locum (Ongoing)
Working Pattern: Full-time or Part-time Considered

The Role

An established law firm in Cheshire is seeking a Private Client Locum to provide support to the team during a period of transition following the upcoming retirement of the current Head of Department.

The successful candidate will assist with a manageable caseload of private client matters, helping to maintain continuity within the department. The team currently includes two junior fee earners and requires an experienced locum to provide cover and support while longer-term arrangements are considered.

Key Responsibilities

Managing a caseload of private client matters
Advising on probate and estate administration matters
Supporting the wider private client team with day-to-day casework
Assisting with client queries and ongoing files
Providing experienced support during a departmental transition period
Ensuring continuity of service and progression of matters

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

Previous experience handling private client matters
Experience dealing with probate and estate administration work
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong client care and communication skills

Desirable:

Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced Fee Earner
Previous locum or interim experience
Ability to provide supervision and support to junior team members
