Project Manager - Environment

We are working with a local authority who are looking for a Project Manager – Environment to join the Environment team and work on a major infrastructure programme focused on sustainable transport.

Location: Southwest based Authority 

Set-up: Hybrid-working role with potential attendance on site by agreement

Rate: £250 via Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Duration: 3 months contract, likely extension

Hours: Full-time position

The work will include:

The programme focus will be on developing continuous bus lanes, traffic signal prioritisation, segregated walking and cycling infrastructure, standardised high-quality bus stops and enhancing our key transport hubs

Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the programme:

• Integrating environment into an infrastructure programme
• Managing the work programme to deliver the project objectives, milestones, and timescales
• Ensuring the delivery of a one-year task and finish group that will provide environmental advice, ensuring regulatory compliance with legislation
• Responsible for setting out the environmental requirements for business case stages, construction stage, procurement specifications, grant agreements, and contractual arrangements
• Managing a team
• Assessing projects on their environmental performance

Experience and qualifications:

• Experience of integrating environmental issues into projects or specifically delivering environment projects
• Professional qualification in project management, ideally applied in infrastructure design and construction
• Always work in a collaborative way while simultaneously setting direction
• Previous experience managing a team
