We are currently working with a Large Local Government Council who are looking for a Projects Surveyor / Small Works Project Manager to assist them for 6 Months initially with the option to go permanent.
This role will be working on corporate property portfolio which includes listed buildings, schools, civic centres, libraries, parks and other council owned property.

Duration: 6 Months – option to go permanent
Rate: £400 per day Inside IR35
Hybrid Working Model: 2 – 3 days onsite
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing and manage maintenance and construction works to the Corporate Property Portfolio, including planned maintenance, responsive maintenance, refurbishments, adaptations, extensions and alterations.
- Contribute towards the development and the implementation of the Corporate Asset Management Plan
- Provide advice, guidance and input, to the design of refurbishment or new build projects to ensure the most effective maintenance regimes are built into corporate Estate Properties.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the required standards
- Undertake the preparation/production of bills of quantities, schedules of work, schedules of rates, budget estimates, feasibility studies, specification documents, preliminary particulars and preambles for contract documents as required for building works including maintenance and refurbishments
- Check off submitted valuations, accounts, financial statements and payment accounts and invoices during work in progress and on completion
- Liaise with contractors, carry out site visits, inspections and measurement of work in progress as necessary
- To deal with variations of contract and resolution of contractual claims
- Undertake measurements and valuations of completed work (and variations) as necessary, certification of final accounts, financial statements and detailed reports, thereon
- Contribute in the preparation and procurement of the Public Buildings Capital Programme as required
- Attend Working Parties and Officer Meetings as directed/requested
- Prepare evidence for public enquiries and attend such hearings as required
- Contribute in the preparation of evidence for Court and to attend hearings as a witness or expert as necessary
- Deal with enquiries from and advise all sections of the public on matters concerning appropriate property related problems
- Undertake inspections for and update the computer records of the Public Buildings Conditions Survey and Asset Management Plan
- Utilise pre-designed computer programmes and associated equipment (including use of such equipment on site) and assist in the development of computer systems in the provision of the Property Surveying Service
- To arrange for, supervise as appropriate and co-ordinate the activities of internal or external bodies relative to repairs and/or minor improvements to land and property or services, by way of project management
Please note: you must have experience working with Legislation, including the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) regulations
